On May 2nd, 2012, it became official. The Crooked Creek property is SOLD!! It was a very dramatic closing. We signed our portion of the final papers on May 1, and the buyers were supposed to sign their portion of the final papers on May 2. At 7:00pm on May 1, the buyers' agent contacted us. At the final walk through, the buyers decided they saw things they hadn't noticed before and wanted to re-open negotiations. We were flabbergasted and angry! Thanks to our cool-headed sales agent, things were worked out at the 11th hour and papers were signed on May 2 as scheduled.
We had quite a few friends, including our financial advisers from UBS, meet us at Tavern On the Square for an evening celebration. It was a beautiful and relaxing evening.
Another chapter closed.
