I had the wonderful opportunity to attend a wedding shower for former student and good family friend, Rebecca Skrivanek. Like Rebecca, the shower was tons of fun and quite unique.

| The Bollywood theme included silky draperies, elephant tapestries, and floor cushions. |

| A henna artist painted on each of us a design of our choosing. Henna is probably the closest I will ever get to a tattoo. |

Rusty and I try to enrich our lives with cultural engagements. Recently we delighted in hearing the UNL Faculty Jazz concert, which featured original works by good friend, Tom Larson. A couple of nights later we heard the Chiara String Quartet perform pieces by Ravel, Bartok and Brahms. After the intermission, our good friends, Karen Becker and Clark Potter, joined the group to play Johannes Brahms's Sextet for Strings in B-flat Major.

| That same evening we went to Sebastian's Table for some tapas. |
 |
| Sebastian's is a new place in Lincoln with awesome food! |

Last week we heard John Philip Newell, guest speaker at First Plymouth. |
Born in 1953, Newell is a poet, peacemaker, minister and scholar, internationally acclaimed for his work in the field of Celtic spirituality. Based in Edinburgh, Scotland, Newell teaches and preaches internationally on themes related to the sacredness of the earth and the oneness of the human soul. He is one of the most prominent teachers of spirituality in the English-speaking world.

| Rusty had his final appointment with his knee surgeon. Other than continued home-therapy for many weeks to come, he is good to go! |
 |
| Celeste and I enjoyed some play time. |
 |
| She had a ball with the blocks in the library. |
 |
| She was a little shy about bringing her puppet to life. |

| That wonderful husband of mine never misses an opportunity to spoil me! |
In February I began taking skating lessons with the Lincoln chapter of the US Figure Skating Club. I was able to pass Adult Level 1 and Adult Level 2. We started with the very basics, like falling down on the ice and being able to get back up. This video doesn't look like much, but I feel I've made great progress!
Next week they melt the ice for the summer, so I plan to resume lessons in the fall.
Pierce is in Kindergarden and learning to read and write. I sent him a short letter and was so delighted to get one from him in return!
When I was in Kindergarden, all we had to know how to do was to tie our shoes, go to the bathroom by ourselves and say our own name. My how things have changed!
We visited the Fishers in KC this past weekend. The weather was beautiful, so we took a walk in Loose Park.

Reece is movin' out on his scooter.
And Pierce has mastered the roller blades.
We really enjoyed your visit!
