Happy Easter!

Easter was very quiet here, but especially lovely in many ways.
We had a few house decorations.

---and early morning lattes

A tradition established by my Mom when I was young was to always have a new, hand-made outfit for Easter.

Of course, a new hat!

We attended a lovely Easter service at First Plymouth Church.  "Gabriel's Oboe" was a beautiful piece featuring Bill McMullen.  "Pines of Rome" is always so impressive!  My favorite was Beethoven's "Hallelujah (from Christ on the Mount of Olives)."  With a couple dozen instrumentalists and over 60 choir members, they put out an amazing sound.

The weather was a little daunting for Easter Sunday.

We went to brunch at The Green Gateau.

It's a restaurant with great food and quirky quotes on the walls.

In March I got to watch my grandson, Pierce, play competitive hockey.
a very sweet young man!
I now bike in a little colder weather and have ridden over 500 miles already since January.
Bike ride to Ceresco with Annette and Steve.

We took granddaughter, Celeste, to a Lincoln Symphony children's' concert.  It involved puppets and face-painting.

The latest Nebraska Jazz Orchestra concert featured Ernie Watts.  Great concert!

Ernest James Watts is an American jazz and rhythm and blues saxophonist.

We went to dinner with friends Clayton and Susan at The Blue Orchid.
This is a wonderful restaurant with Asian cuisine located in The Grand Manse.
After dinner we watched "Avenue Q," a hilarious off-Broadway musical.
The musical was performed at Lincoln's famous Johnny Carson Theater.

A week later we had another night on the town with Lou and Karl.
We started the evening at The Marz Bar.
...and ended the evening at Lincoln's speak easy--The Other Room.

I made my sign for the March for Our Lives event.
Despite the cold, over 1,000 people participated in the march.

Rusty has been waiting months for his new Bass Clarinet to arrive.

His practice time has now expanded to include 3 different clarinets.

Although Gretchen looks very relaxed in this picture, we do weekly private lessons and are working very hard.
I planted new rhubarb in my garden and can't wait for things to start popping up.  We just need some warm weather!
